Swelling

Depiction of a cervical cyst

Both suddenly appearing and slowly growing swellings should always be examined by an ENT specialist in order to prevent complications. In most cases benign lesions (such as the cervical cyst shown above) are the underlying cause, which can be diagnosed with simple clinical examinations, ultrasound or radiological procedures. Often these can be treated with medication alone.

Inflammation

Depiction of inflammatory enlarged lymph nodes

An inflammation is often painful and appears suddenly. An ENT examination helps to find the cause and the right treatment. Your local ENT specialist is a good first contact. If inflammation keeps recurring in the same area — for example a typical recurrent tonsillitis requiring antibiotics (with inflammatory enlarged lymph nodes on the right as shown above) — surgical removal of the tonsils may be advisable. We are happy to perform a gentle surgical treatment for you.

Please contact us. Our general ENT consultation hour for this problem is Mondays and Fridays, 9 am–1 pm.

Neoplasm

Depiction of a vocal fold tumor

Both benign and malignant neoplasms can present with a variety of symptoms (such as a tumor of the left vocal fold shown above). Hoarseness, swallowing problems, bleeding from the mouth and throat are just a few of them. Rapid diagnosis helps to find the cause and to prevent complications. For this purpose we have established a dedicated consultation hour to help you.
